Middle school comprises of Classes V to VIII, with subjects taught largely being extensions of the same subjects that were taught in Classes I to IV, but with the addition of Hindi as a third language, Socially Useful and Productive Work (SUPW) and Physical Education. (Marathi has been made compulsory as the second language from Class I to Class VIII, as per the Government of Maharashtra’s new rules).
The school will make use of the ‘Graphic Organizer’ to organize the subject matter’s teaching-learning process and help the student better remember what is taught with the aid of mind-maps.
Informal learning will be facilitated through filed visits to places relevant to the curriculum, which will also offer an opportunity for developing their social, communication and life skills and teach them the value of morals such as adjustment, compromise and tolerance.
The evaluation of students will be through a process of Continuous Assessment, which means assessing them after every topic / unit is taught. Immaterial of their performance in the assessments, students will be automatically promoted to the next class in line with the Government’s policy in this regard.
