ICSE affiliation is awarded by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi and it allows Class X students to appear for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) examination conducted by the Council. Subsequently, the school can also apply for affiliation to the Council to allow its Class XII students to appear for the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination of the Council. CISCE prescribes syllabus in various subjects for Classes IX & X for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education
(ICSE) examination and for Classes XI & XII for the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination. The Council does not prescribe syllabus or courses of study for Classes I to VIII, but it recommends that the schools affiliated to the Council follow the syllabus for various subjects prepared by the Inter-State Board for Anglo-Indian Education for Classes I to VIII. This will be followed by Kohinoor International School.
Detailed information on the curriculum prescribed by CISCE for the Indian Certificate for Secondary Education (ICSE), i.e. for Classes IX & X, and also for the Indian School Certificate (ISC), i.e. for Classes XI & XII, as also the Council’s philosophy, history and achievements may be referred to on the Council’s website: www.cisce.org / www.cisce.in.
A school desiring to seek affiliation to the Council is required to apply for affiliation at the appropriate time (i.e. after the school has started Class VI, leaving sufficient time for the affiliation process to ensure that the school has the Council’s written approval for affiliation before admitting students to Class IX). In line with this rule, Kohinoor International School will apply for ICSE affiliation in the beginning of academic year 2011-12
